SOS office reopens July 5, 2021 for in-person support

*Pending Government of Alberta restriction changes

In-person mental health support is ramping back up at Some Other Solutions in early July, pending the removal of provincial health restrictions, but that doesn’t mean virtual support is going away.

Beginning on Monday, July 5, 2021, the Some Other Solutions office on Franklin Ave. will be open for in-person visits from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, including counselling and mentorship sessions. However in the last 15 months of the pandemic, we have seen a significant level of interest in virtual sessions and it’s something we want to maintain. Counselling and mentorship sessions can still be booked as virtual sessions, a program that is here to stay.

While the office is opening, Some Other Solutions will still have strict COVID cleaning protocols in place and all counselling clients will receive a COVID checklist to fill out before each session.

New summer programs

With the return of in-person opportunities, we are also excited to announce a collection of summer programs specifically for the children and youth in our community! From the free Community Helpers program to Planting Roots and Junior Mentorship, we have several options to engage the young people in Wood Buffalo through the summer. A commitment to health and safety

We remain committed to the health and safety of both staff and clients and thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to a hybrid model of mental health support for our community.
