Some Other Solutions cancels 2020 Summer Camp

Fort McMurray, AB – Some Other Solutions Society for Crisis Prevention, has cancelled its Creative Roots Summer Camp due to COVID-19. Due to government restrictions, the agency is unable to operate the camp as intended.

The Creative Roots Summer Camp was scheduled to begin in July and run for 5 weeks, open to youth between the ages of 7 and 11. The camp focuses on exploring the uniqueness and creative self of each and every person through various avenues in leadership development, performance, sports and in the arts.

“Creative Roots Summer Camp has always been a mentorship community; every summer we were able to experience mentees stepping into their strengths, trying new activities, building new skills, and forming a summer camp family of friends and mentorship,” said Isy Castillo, Child & Youth Program Manager.  “We will miss everyone this summer in building positive experiences learning from one another! We hope summer campers of Creative Roots continue to implement the learning's of community, empowerment, inspiration, wellness, gratitude, and spreading kindness to themselves and those around them.”

Currently, Some Other Solutions Child & Youth Program is offering virtual mentoring and exploring options to expand this program.
